Na prática o CGI.br detonou o Movimento Brasileiro AntiSpam e
criou um antispam.br próprio, para desta forma poder ter um
contrôle maior sobre os e-mails no Brasil. Texto em portugues (aqui).

Brazilian Internet Comitee is no more an impartial organ

IG asks, CG member agree, Fapesp does

Provider iG asks for the cancellation of the domain
antispam.org.br and FAPESP-BR approves and cancel the
domain

Last october 19, the MAPS - Mail Abuse Prevention
System LLC, located in Redwood City, California (USA),
has approved a submission to include all the SMTP
servers of iG (free Internet provider from Brazil) in
it's RBL block list (Realtime Blackhole List). This
was announced at october 20, friday, in several online
press sites in Brazil.

In the same friday, iG has sent a request to FAPESP
(the registrar in Brazil) asking for the cancellation
of the domain ANTISPAM.ORG.BR (owned and mantained by
the Brazilian Antispam Movement). The motivation: The
phisical address used in the register is outside
Brazil. The solicitation was sent by Mr. Demi Getshko.

At the Saturday, october 20, mr. Frederico Neves
(from Fapesp) sent a digitally signed message to the
ANTISPAM.ORG.BR, informing that the domain will be
canceled, disregard that he agrees that the Brazilian
Movement is very important to the Brazilian internet.

In a conversation by phone with mr. Frederico, one
of the Antispam members have received the information
that the solicitation was made by a formal document
from iG, and that he coudn't mantain the domain.

The Brazilian Antispam Movement would like to
remember that mr. Demi Getshko (that was made the
solicitation) is at the same time a member of the iG
staff (Technology Vice-President) *AND* a counselor of
the Brazilian Internet Comitee (that makes the rules
of Internet in Brazil). This explain the fast
execution of the solicitation by FAPESP: A member of
the Brazilian Comitee asks. We can conclude that the
Brazilian Internet Comitee is no more an impartial
organ
, and that one of it's members is a person that
works in a ISP several times accused of not fight
improper activities like SPAM, hacking, cracking and
lammering. Then, we can have as very suspicious the
impartiality of Brazilian Internet Comitee, cancelling
the domain of a movement that the same Comitee
recognizes as very important to the Brazilian
Internet. The real "Wolf that looks the lamb" story,
applied to the brazilian Internet.

The Movement alerts yet that iG haven't at least
cared about it's inclusion in RBL, and to "solve" the
problem just have changed it's MX servers IPs, to
avoid the blocking. To this type of action, the MAPS
have a simple solution too: Include all the IP network
in the blocking list. In the iG case, this means
include 255 IPs (a complete C class). In extreme
cases, all the CIDR blocks of iG can be included.
Disregard of the several security incidents yet open
in the Brazilian security organ, the NIC-BR/NBSO, iG
have obtained the CANIP approving of it's CIDR blocks
request. Again, we have mr. Demi Getschko
auto-approving his own request without cares with all
the security complaints without reply of iG. Today, iG
have more than 65.000 IPs (a whole /16 block).

The Brazilian Antispam Movement inform that never
had any influence in the inclusion of iG in the
MAPS-RBL, and that we have no bond between us and Mail
Abuse Prevention System LLC (besides the fact that we
fight for a common objective of a SPAM-FREE internet).
We would like to remember that the inclusion of iG was
made after a request of RNP (Rede Nacional de Pesquisa
or National Research Network), organ that have no bond
with us too.

Finally, we thanks all the messages manifesting
your indignation with the FAPESP action - in fact an
act ordered by a brazilian internet comitee member
that is too an iG staff member. The Brazilian Antispam
Movement is gone, but several others remains to combat
not only the SPAM but to combat this type of attitude
too, wich is take off the voice of the people that
tries to turn the Internet a decent place for decent
people, made by decent professionals.

the dream"
